Courses Taught
Biology 121Anatomy and Physiology : Part I of a two semester web enhanced course in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach, with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function in gross and microscopic levels of organization. The course is required for Pre-chiropractic, Pre-Physician Assistant, Nursing and Physical Education Majors. It is an elective for Science Majors (3 credits). There is also a one credit laboratory component (Biol 121L) for the course. Fall term.
Biology 122Anatomy and Physiology: Part II of a web enhanced two semester course in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach, with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function in gross and microscopic levels of organization. The course is required for Pre-chiropractic, Pre-Physician Assistant, Nursing and Physical Education Majors. It is an elective for Science Majors (3 credits). There is also a one credit laboratory component (Biol 122L) for the course. Spring Term.
Biology
130 (ONLINE) Principles of Anatomy and Physiology: A
completely ONLINE one semester non-laboratory course
which provides a basic study of the structure and function of
selected human organ systems. The course is required for Communication
Science, Psychology, Social Work and Music Therapy Majors and is open
to all non-science majors. The curriculum is adapted to the special
needs of the previously mentioned majors (3 credits).
Biology
130 L (ONLINE) Principles of Anatomy and Physiology
Laboratory: A completely
ONLINE laboratory in anatomy and physiology. Six of the
labs are based in anatomy and 4 are based in physiology. Students
perform simulated experiments and can do the laboratory from off
campus. The curriculum includes cell structure and function, cell
membrane physiology, mitosis, histology, axial and appendicular
skeletons, muscles, respiratory volumes and capacities and endocrine
simulations. The course fulfills the liberal arts lab requirement for
graduation (1 credit).
Biology 136 Human Anatomy and Physiology: A two-semester non-laboratory course which involves a study of the structure and function of the human organism from the cellular level to the integrated organ systems level. The course is required for all dietetics majors (3 credits). Fall Term.
Biology 137 Human Anatomy and Physiology: Part II of a web enhanced two-semester non-laboratory course which involves a study of the structure and function of the human organism from the cellular level to the integrated organ systems level. The course is required for all dietetics majors (3 credits). Spring term.
