NASA-Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. American Society for Engineering Education Fellow. Identified polymer matrices for use as pressure sensitive paint coatings in aeronautic wind tunnel testing applications. (Summer of 1997, 1998, & 1999)

U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Rockville, MD. Oak Ridge Institute Science and Education Fellow. Initiated research in developing attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy as a method for determining the specific binding interaction of a carbonyl-labeled hormonal drug with estrogen receptor sites of ovarian cancer.
