· Serve on the Clean Air Policy Implementation Committee, 2005 to present. Also a member of the Education Subcommittee. Helped organize and staff information sessions on informing the Marywood community of the dangers of smoking and second-hand smoke, as well as tips and support for quitting.
· Worked on a team to design three online graduate instructional technology courses funded by a Link to Learn Grant: E-Learning Systems, Integrating Technology into the Classroom, and Integrating the Internet into the Curriculum. The process involved research, designing content, writing objectives, identifying strategies, and creating assessment items. All three classes were created and will be delivered using WebCT.
· Designed and delivered a non-credit class for Marywood’s School of Continuing Education, Learning the Internet, to adult learners (1999 to 2002). Participants learned the basics of navigating web pages and beginning and advanced techniques when using a search engine to locate information. Authentic activities and projects were utilized, tailored to the participants’ interests. Other Internet activities, such as email and chat, were also discussed and demonstrated.
· Conducted three technology workshops for the Abington Heights School District, Clarks Summit, PA during 1999-2000. Materials developed for these workshops included a glossary of Internet terms, a tutorial for web search engines, a PowerPoint tutorial, an instructional plan, and a tutorial for using several Internet-based software tools. The sessions were attended by over 100 high school teachers.
· Presented a technology workshop for Scranton Preparatory High School, Scranton, PA in 1998 attended by the faculty and some administrators. The workshop included discussions on the history of the Internet, Internet-based tools, and how technology can be used to promote higher order thinking skills.
